8. The Birds - Birds Take Over
Who can forget The Birds? Hitchcock's superb classic about crazy, killer birds which is brilliantly made and features great performances. Being released in 1963 it still delivers a stack of suspense. Nevertheless, the ending always seems a let-down. The birds just stop attacking people? A slight disappointment. The Brenners just waltz right out and escape, while the birds just sit around. How? Why? Hitchcock had a much more fitting ending to this classic, which would have been an remarkable ending to a remarkable movie a shot of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, swarming with birds. Why wasn't this the ending? Besides, Tippi should have just thrown a Warburtons Crusty White out that phone booth and ran for it.
