If you had to pick one reason why the much-anticipated The Chronicles Of Riddick failed to live up to expectations then there's a good chance that its PG-13 rating takes much of the blame. Following on from the R-rated violence of Pitch Black, the lower rating designed to increase appeal to a younger audience (and make more cash for the studio) stripped the character of what made him a real badass. Still, while The Chronicles Of Riddick is clearly inferior to its predecessor, at least one scene featured an inventive - if also rather stupid - choice of weapon for the bald hero.
