10 Things About The DC Movie Universe That Make No Sense

6. Batman’s Knightmares Out Of Context

Since The Avengers had a massive head start on the Justice League in Hollywood, Batman v Superman felt the need to shoehorn in a Flash cameo and throw confusing apocalyptic flash forwards at the audience.

The problem with Bruce Wayne's 'Knightmare' sequences is that they're distracting and make little sense out of context. When Barry Allen appears to Bats from an apparent dystopian future to deliver a warning about Superman, it's never really built on as a sequel setup.

What's more, the way the scene plays out is mind-boggling. Bruce awakens with a start after The Flash has delivered his message, which seems to indicate it was a dream, but that's impossible. How could he dream about a person he's never met?

Presumably, the Scarlet Speedster has the ability to enter his mind, but that's never explained or fleshed out.

Then there's those scenes where a trenchcoat-clad Batman encounters an evil Superman in a post-apocalyptic world. Again, they have no bearing on the movie at hand and merely act as distracting spoilers from a future film that mean nothing to those without a masters degree in DC lore.
