10 Things Everybody Gets Wrong About 2015's Biggest Movies
2. "The Hateful Eight Is One Of Tarantino's Best Movies"
What Everyone Thinks: Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight has earned notices from fans online that it just might be the best movie in his entire filmography, yes, even better than his masterful Pulp Fiction. Hell, the Rotten Tomatoes consensus states that the film "demonstrates an even stronger grip on his filmmaking craft." The Truth: Rotten Tomatoes' employees for one are ignoring that Tarantino's latest has the second-lowest percentage score of any of his movies, so it's likely that when the release hubbub around the film has died down, even QT's most loyal fans will on the whole agree that it's not among his better films, doesn't demonstrate his stronger anything, and is certainly no Pulp Fiction beater. This isn't to say that critics and audiences will always or should always align, but the knee-jerk desire from Tarantino faithfuls to hail it as his definitive masterpiece seems, well, pretty ridiculous to more discerning eyes.
