10 Things Marvel Fans Don't Want To Accept About Sony's Marvel Universe
3. Spider-Man 4 Would Have Sucked
Spider-Man 3 was a disappointment, but fans remained optimistic that Sam Raimi would be able to right the ship with Spider-Man 4. The movie got surprisingly far along in terms of development before the plug was pulled, and while there's still a very vocal desire for it to happen, it's time to accept that it not becoming a reality was far from the end of the world.
Despite an impressive cast that was set to include John Malkovich as The Vulture and Anne Hathaway as Felicia Hardy, what little has been revealed about Spider-Man 4 point to it being another weird film.
Rather than Felicia being Black Cat, she was set to be portrayed as The Vulture's daughter, transforming into The Vulturess. That's a goofy, hard to understand creative decision, and one which signalled the studio pushing Sam Raimi to make his Spider-Man movies "bigger" rather than sticking with the spirit of the early comics that made the first two instalments so great.
This remaining stuck in development hell isn't a bad thing, and Spider-Man 4 not happening is no loss.
