7. Hank Pym Is An Old Man Who's Made Some Mistakes

It's tempting to project existing Marvel-knowledge onto a movie. It's clear that this Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) won't be the Hank Pym we know. For one thing, he's pretty old - old enough to have an adult daughter with some years on her and old enough to be played by Michael Douglas. Heck, he wasn't a founding Avenger and never created Ultron. Whether he ever struck his wife, the most infamous moment in comic-book Hank Pym's history, is unclear. But there are a couple of signs that Pym, if not openly abusive, hasn't lived the best of lives.
