One of the biggest talking points beforehand was Christian Bale’s debut. Ever since it got announced that the former Dark Knight will be entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have been buzzing. Of course, the MCU will be showcasing the villainous side of Bale, as he is all set to debut as the nigh unbeatable Gorr.

A being famed for slaughtering others with the supposed rank of deities, Gorr’s physical strength is ranked in the upper echelons of the Marvel universe. So how much will this movie be staying true to the comic book arc involving Thor and Gorr? A fair bit, if the trailer is anything to go by.

A scene in the trailer showed Thor and Korg standing atop a snowy peak. A careful look will reveal a striking resemblance to a panel from Thor #3 from back in 2012. The issue in question was part of the arc involving Gorr. While it is difficult to gauge too much about the story from just one snapshot, this is nonetheless a hint toward what kind of plot we might expect.
