4. He Loves Doing Impressions
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGidYBqBHVw With his roots in comedy, Jamie Foxx is a natural at impressions. When he was pursuing stand up comedy, a frequent routine of his was an impression of Ronald Reagan, which we'd really love to see. He also apparently used to do impressions of Ray Charles, who he'd later win dozens of awards for playing years later. He would do Ray Charles impressions on the set of the TV show In Living Color, impersonating Charles' Diet Pepsi ads that were on the air at the time. Even when he was doing these comedic sketches and goofy impressions, Foxx said that this helped him to hone his acting skills. He said that that's something Keenen Wayans taught him. Foxx explained that Wayans told him, "Take this time to work on your acting skills. Even in those little 30- or 40-second Ugly Wanda sketches, there's acting. You've gotta make people care.'" To this day, he still does some pretty great impressions, like in this amazing Tonight Show clip where he does impressions of Mick Jagger, John Legend and Jennifer Hudson.
