10 Times “Good” Characters Gave Being Evil A Try

5. Buddy Pine

Jason Todd Red Hood
Disney/Pixar

Buddy Pine is the perfect example of why kids need to have responsible adults watching out for them. When he was a little boy, Buddy was obsessed with Mr. Incredible, but instead of bugging him for autographs and selfies, he tried to be his sidekick... forcefully.

He wanted to be a good guy, which was probably something Mr. Incredible should have taken into account seeing as Buddy invented all manner of gadgets. Instead of using those gadgets and helping Buddy navigate the dangerous waters of adolescence so he could grow up to become a superhero, he pushed him away.

What could Buddy do, but rebrand himself as the supervillain Syndrome and launch a calculated plot of revenge against his former idol?

He built a criminal empire and even fashioned a headquarters within an active volcano… as one does when they turn to villainy. When his plan is launched, he kills former heroes, kidnaps children, and threatens to destroy a city. Buddy never returned to the cute, hero-worshiping boy we met at the beginning of the film - his transition into evil was irreversible and he ended up dying while trying to kidnap an infant, which, let's face it, that's truly evil.
