10 Times Horror Movie Directors Gave INSANE Performances As Actors
8. Ruggero Deodato - Hostel Part II
When Paxton arrives at the torture facility in the first Hostel, horror veterans may have recognised one of the clients was portrayed by Takashi Miike. Although it was cool to see the man behind Audition and Ichi the Killer make an appearance, he doesn't really do much.
Fortunately, Ruggero Deodato gets to have more fun with his cameo in the sequel. After a facilitator has a prisoner mutilated, she asks a torturer portrayed by Deodato if he wants her. The sicko nonchalantly agrees to see her before returning to his chamber, where he's skinning a victim. After slicing off a chunk of his victim's leg, Deodato's character sits at a nearby dining table and casually consumes it.
This interaction isn't connected to the plot, but it's a nice touch, since Deodato's man-eating character is a nod to his most infamous work, Cannibal Holocaust. On top of that, Deodato's inclusion is further appreciated upon learning Roth's follow-up was The Green Inferno, which was his own take on the cannibal sub-genre that riffed heavily on Deodato's controversial original.
