6. The Godfather (Poland)

There's good advice to be found in the saying "Keep it simple," but I'm not sure that it can be applied to this particular movie poster, which is what it was obviously going for. Does this say "the greatest movie of all time" to you? Or does it say "Dorek only had an hour to get this done because he forget he had to pick up his kids"? The Godfather literally features a giant downturned thumb and a upset man wielding the world's largest handgun, you're probably gonna end up staring at it longer than you might stare at the classic posters we all know in love. I can only presume that the downturned thumb is symbolic of the order to have Sonny Corleone - I guess that's him - killed, hence the sad face. So we've got some plot. We've got no colour, but we've got some plot. The big gun, I can't explain. A stylistic flourish, if you will. And you will, because there's no other choice.
