10 Totally Unnecessary Movie Scenes That Served Zero Purpose

1. Insert McDonald's Advertisement Now! - Mac & Me

Mac And Me Mac & Me is the movie that happens when you agree to let McDonald's pay for your E.T. rip-off: that's to say, this little '80s "gem" has become famous as a source of "bad movie" entertainment, but perhaps its most intriguing aspect is the fact that there's a freakin' advertisement for McDonald's slapped somewhere right in the middle, for reasons that make no sense and are never explained. And it's not like they went down the conventional route, either. Nope: it's a dance sequence, of course, because this was the '80s. At one point, you see, the hero of the story - a wheelchair-bound kid - ends up in a McDonald's restaurant because he's looking for his alien buddy, and then there's suddenly Ronald McDonald, and everyone is up on the counter, and there's a song playing in the background. It's safe to say that, of any sequence every put into any film ever made, this one is probably the most unnecessary. It's no mistake that this flick was called "Mac" and Me, you know. Thanks, McDonald's! We're, uh, totally loving it. Like this article? Let us know in the comments section below.
