In a match against Grenada, Barbados had to win by two goals in order to advance in the tournament. Since the tournament€™s bizarre rules specified that goals in sudden death extra time would count double, Barbados purposely scored on its own goal to the tie the game. Grenada actually attempted to score on its own goal to untie the game and secure advancement, but Barbados successfully defended both goals to send the game into penalties, which Barbados eventually won.
