1. Voldemort Hugs Draco – The Deathly Hallows Part 2
Yet the most amusing moment from Voldemort comes just after this.
Following his offer for those inside Hogwarts to come and join him, Draco – rather reluctantly – walks forward.
He’s soon stopped, however, when the Dark Lord embraces him with a hug. Draco’s look of disgust against Voldemort’s predatory grin is what makes this scene so funny. It’s clear Draco would give anything to be released.
Anyone who’s read the books knows Voldemort is the last person on earth to give out hugs, even to his most dedicated supports. His decision to embrace Draco, therefore, is hilariously out of character. It’s almost as if his glee at Harry’s death has made him temporarily deranged.
What’s more, this moment wasn’t even in the script. But for whatever reason, Fiennes decided Voldemort should hug Draco and – amazingly – that’s the take the filmmakers went with.
