10 Unintentionally Funny Moments In Harry Potter
4. Dumbledore’s Reaction To Harry’s Name Coming Out The Goblet – The Goblet Of Fire
Professor Dumbledore is normally a measured, wise individual who never overreacts. Unfortunately, he went slightly mental when Harry’s name came out of the Goblet of Fire.
Rather than approaching Harry with sympathy, he storms forward, pushes him back, and interrogates him about whether or not he put his name in the Goblet of Fire whilst completely ignoring Harry's look of shock at his Headmaster's behaviour.
As well as being completely out of character, this scene is also amusing because of how much it contradicts Rowling’s original scene. In the book, the word ‘calmly’ is used to describe Dumbledore’s dialogue when he questions Harry.
This kneejerk reaction remains one of the oddest moments in the series. Dumbledore would never treat any of his students in such a manner, least of all Harry.
