2. Judge Dredd (1995)
In what many have called the worst ever comic book movie, Stallone turns the celebrated and feared comic book lawman (a cop with instant judicial powers) into an overacted snarling cliché spewing machine. Even his catchphrase sounds like a sound bite from the earliest Batman TV show, and could probably all be emblazoned with huge irony across a film geek T-Shirt. Highlights include a scene that involves Sly and Rico just yelling law at each other for about two minutes, which is good for fans of shouting and legislation, but not too many other people, and the whole idea that Dredd takes his helmet is the biggest unnecessary plot hole of the whole thing. The whole idea of Dredd having a human side is just baffling, sort of like acknowledging the existence of Batman's nipples. The 2000AD comic its based on is set in a dark dystopian world, but this adaptation is the Disneyland version. But then , its not a bad movie if you take none of it seriously.
