2. Humans Transformed Into Parademons - Suicide Squad
One of the advantages of Enchantress being aligned with Steppenwolf is the fact that, as noted, she was going to unleash Parademons on Midway City. However, just like how in the final cut she transformed those A.R.G.U.S. soldiers into monsters, the original plan was for them to slowly turn into monstrous Parademons.
In Justice League's flashbacks, human soldiers are shown transforming into Parademons, so that was clearly meant to lay the groundwork for these scenes in Suicide Squad. Unfortunately, it's not something Warner Bros. has taken advantage of beyond that flashback sequence.
Zack Snyder could very easily use this idea for his cut of the ensemble (in the present day or in those "Knightmare" sequences), but beyond that, there are other ways the monstrous aliens could return.
Whether it's a villain like Lex Luthor using tech to create human/Parademon hybrids or a movie like The New Gods bringing them back to Earth - or even other planets - it feels like the potential for something special is definitely here, particularly from a "body horror" point of view.
