10 Upcoming Horror Movie Rumours You Need To Know
2. An American Werewolf In London Remake
Like Joe Hill to Stephen King, John Landis’ son Max Landis has been looking to make his own An American Werewolf In London for a very long time despite his father going on record saying “I advised him not to do it.”
Development was rumored as far back as 2015, but the project has been in early development for quite a while now. Landis was first brought onboard by the Furst brothers back in 2016, but the project has been delayed over and over again due to the sexual assault controversies surrounding Landis.
Since the controversy, it hasn’t been confirmed if Landis is still connected to the project, but there’s still quite a bit of interest in a remake as rock star Sturgill Simpson wants to pilot a remake of An America Werewolf In London as well. He’s already written a script for the movie, albeit a personal script that unassociated with a major studio.
With Landis seemingly being pushed away from making a remake it seems like a good idea to bring in new people, especially someone from outside the film scene like Simpson who’s writing skills are already cemented - he already has a book to his name: A Sailor’s Guide to the Music Industry.
