10 Upcoming Movie Sequels We Can't Wait To See
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of those franchises that, despite its immense popularity and longevity, bar the first two '90s movies, has never transferred fantastically well to the big screen. The joy of the characters has always seemed to get lost, in both 2007's TMNT, and the Michael Bay-produced reboot franchise in 2014.
However, in 2023 came Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, blowing any and all previous cinematic versions of the characters out of the water. The movie was an utter joy, a beautifully animated, surprisingly emotional story that actually allowed the teenagers to act like teenagers.
To the surprise of no one, it didn't take long after its release before a sequel was announced. Set to hit cinemas in 2026, more of the same, including hopefully a full returning cast that boasts the likes of Jackie Chan, John Cena, Seth Rogen, Ayo Edibiri, Rose Byrne, Maya Rudolph, and more, will be more than welcome.
And that's before even mentioning that the final scenes of Mutant Mahyem teased the coming of Shredder, who director Jeff Rowe has already said will be "100 times scarier" than the original's villain, Superfly (Ice Cube). This is going to be fun.
