10 Upcoming Movies That Just Got Delayed
7. The Rip
One of the more promising Netflix Originals imminently due for release is The Rip, an action thriller starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as a pair of Miami cops who discover a massive stash of cash.
Damon and Affleck will be directed by Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces, The Grey), who has a knack for wringing offbeat thrills out of gritty genre offerings like this, while the wider ensemble cast includes Steven Yeun, Sasha Calle, Néstor Carbonell, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Kyle Chandler, and Scott Adkins.
Shooting wrapped up by last December, with the streamer originally planning to release it in fall 2025.
But back in June, Netflix confirmed that The Rip was being pushed back by a few months and would now release on January 16, 2026.
No reason for the delay has been publicised, so it could be something as simple as a boring scheduling reshuffle on Netflix's part, or Carnahan perhaps needing a little longer to tighten up the edit.
