James Cameron's unfiltered comments a few months back on the inevitable negative reaction he expected to greet the eventual reveal of his upcoming second trip to Pandora's length were enough to leave some bracing themselves for a truly staggering runtime.

And while he did have a point when reminding folks who scoffed at the concept of sitting down to watch a three-hour long feature that it's not uncommon for those same individuals to binge watch five-hours of TV content in one sitting, that still doesn't change the fact that Avatar: The Way of Water's now confirmed 190-minute length is likely to be a daunting experience for some moviegoers.

Topping the prior entry's runtime by almost thirty minutes, it's worth noting that the great many passionate Avatar supporters out there will no doubt be salivating at the thought of the sizeable amount of time they'll get to spend locked into Cameron's world after 13-years of waiting.

But there are definitely more than a few film fans out there now simply wincing at the thought of having to park their asses in a theatre for an age when this Way of Water splashes into theatres in December.
