5. Gotham By Gaslight

Another fantastic Elseworlds tale, but this time with Batman, Gotham by Gaslight would be the perfect film to really cement DC's status as the innovators of the genre onscreen.
Written by Brian Augustyn and drawn by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, Gaslight followed a Victorian-era Batman as he tracked Jack the Ripper in Gotham City, and trust us when we say the premise is as good as it sounds. In fact, it was so good that it spawned an entire line of Elseworlds comics, and there was, at one point, a video game based on the property in development.
Like Red Son, it would be the perfect story to really differentiate DC from the competition, and provide WB with another outlet from which to project a whole new interpretation of a tried and tested character.
Aim for something in the Guy Ritchie mould, and it'll be a surefire success in waiting.
