10 Ways You Know Your Partner Is A Horror Movie Villain

8. Your Partner Has Significantly Violent Tendencies

The Shining So, you and your love dove are canoodling and holding hands on the couch while watching your favorite movie. You look down to see several deep, fresh scabs on your honey€™s knuckles. Panicked, you let go and look at your partner, demanding an explanation. They reveal, timidly, that they had a bad day at work and took it out on a brick wall. After a moment to process, you hold their hand lovingly, kiss their knuckles, and tell them to never do that again. If they have a problem, you are always there for them. They smile, nod, and you two go back to snuggling while relief washes over you. You just solved a major problem for them. Except you didn€™t. Jack Torrance from 1980€™s The Shining demonstrates that once you€™re violent, you are always violent. After dislocating his son€™s shoulder in an alcohol-induced rage, Jack swore off booze and told his wife, Wendy, that he would never drink or be violent again. He then packed up his family and took them hundreds of miles away from civilization where, after a series of paranormal events, he attempts to exterminate both his son and his wife. Though the original violence was not fatal, we see how the fights and the pressure built up to one nasty, gory, violent explosion.
