10 Weakest Links In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

1. The Forgettable Musical Scores

It's a relatively simple complaint - one that it might be too late to address this far into the series. Seriously, though: where's all the good music in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? As it stands, the majority of the scores have been merely "functional" - that's to say, they do the necessary work of complementing the scenes without distracting from what's going on. But these are superhero movies, and superheroes deserve theme tunes that fans can memorise, cherish and feel passionate about. Where would Superman be without John Williams' iconic soundtrack theme, after all? Remember how awesome Danny Elfman's Batman theme was back in the day? Or his Spider-Man theme in the Sam Raimi flicks? Heck, even Hans Zimmer worked up something memorable for the rather terrible Man Of Steel; the movie didn't work much, but the soundtrack was pretty epic. The musical scores inherent to the majority of MCU movies are plain forgettable; you don't leave the theatre humming anything in particular (if at all), and the iconic superheroes lack their own leitmotifs. Seriously: attempt now to hum the theme for Iron Man, or Captain America, or Thor, or The Avengers. You can't, can you? A shame: it feels like a wasted opportunity, given how beloved this franchise is. What do you think the weakest link is in the MCU? Or does it not have one? Share your thoughts down in the comments.
