10 Worst Horror Movies Of 2018
7. Inside
Why exactly we needed this subpar remake of a nasty little French horror is beside the point, since it was what we got anyway. Inside is the Americanised version of Andre Bustillo and Julien Maury's 2007 horror of the same name, that's widely regarded as the peak of French Horror Wave cinema and a darling of the torture porn genre. A strange accolade to triumph, but it's true.
This version doesn't respectfully take the shot-by-shot remake route, instead offering up its own take on the tale of a pregnant woman harassed in her own home by a mysterious, intense woman.
Inside takes out all of the key violence and gore that made the original a feat of its genre, instead offering up a pitiful bastardisation that focusses on jumps scares and lacklustre visuals. It's nothing new or exciting, and it's not a scratch on its predecessor. Just exactly why it was made at all remains a giant question mark over the production.
That it took so long to come to mainstream markets from its origin county, Spain, is a testament to just how shoddy this movie really is.
