10 Worst Things James Bond Has Ever Done

9. Leaving Dom Out To Dry

Daniel Craig's second outing in the tux is ostensibly a sequel to Casino Royale, but one may be forgiven for not remembering the plot - something about reservoirs and water pipelines - or, for that matter, Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric). He's the bad guy, by the way.

An hour forty-five of chaos, quick edits and Bond barrelling around some set pieces come to a head when 007 and Camille Montes (Olga Kurylenko) storm an empty hotel in the Atacama Desert, setting fire to everything in sight and chasing Greene - the undisputed international baron of water (we think) - out into the sand.

Thus, we reach Bond's pièce de résistance, as he drives Greene into the heart of this 105,000 km² desert, abandoning him with only a tin of motor oil for company. It is mercilessly cruel and quite self-consciously ironic, but the Craig era had to find a way of doing the cheesy quips without actually doing the cheesy quips.

We later learn that Greene was found in the desert with two bullets to the head and a tummy full of motor oil crudité, thereby cementing Craig's reputation as one of the meanest and most ruthless Bonds.
