10 Worst Things The Joker Has Ever Done On-Screen
6. Turning Dr Harleen Quinzel Into Harley Quinn - The New Batman Adventures
Locked up in his second home, Joker takes an interest in new shrink, Dr Harleen Quinzel. Quinzel's new to Arkham and out to make a name for herself as one of Gotham's preeminent psychiatrists. Holding a certain fascination with the criminally insane, she hopes to learn the Joker's secrets. Well aware of his ferocious reputation, she's amped and ready to handle a dangerous crook.
Sadly for Harleen, she grossly underestimates who she's dealing with. Joker presents himself as a vulnerable, misunderstood trickster, gradually goading the lonely Quinzel into falling in love with him. It works like a charm and Joker soon has himself a trusty new sidekick.
Not only did Joker corrupt an upstanding citizen into joining his deranged brand of criminal activity, he made her his punching bag. Obsessed with Batman over everything else, Joker frequently gets verbally, physically and psychologically violent with Harley when she gets in his way. Completely exploiting her ill-advised love for him, Joker rarely shows any genuine fondness for Harley, simply using her as another handy tool in his violent enterprise.
Easily DC's most toxic relationship.
