10 Worst Things The Joker Has Ever Done On-Screen
4. Blowing Up Gotham General Hospital - The Dark Knight
Colton Reese has the answer to Gotham's biggest question, 'Who is the Batman?'
With a nihilistic Joker terrorising Gotham over his Batman obsession, Reese decides to out the Caped Crusader and (hopefully) end the madness. Underestimating the Clown Prince of Crime’s whimsical cruelty, Reese finds himself a target for assassination. The city goes wild after Joker demands Reese's death if they don't want a hospital being blown up.
Cue endless patients in pain, and poor health having to be escorted from their beds for fear of getting incinerated. Various folks, fearing for their ailing loved ones, attempt Reese's murder. With the public in a ravenous panic, Nurse Joker makes good on his guarantee and demolishes a hospital. Turning the violence onto a public institution designed to save lives was a new low (or high if you're as sick as Mr J) for Heath Ledger's beloved take on the character.
The agent of chaos makes good on his self-awarded moniker with damage that would haunt the city for years to come. Seriously, the amount of tax dollars needed to rebuild would be off the charts. Not to mention the danger he puts hundreds of fragile patients into by uprooting them. Other hospitals will be worked twice as hard to help those now without a place to receive treatment.
A despicable act of terrorism, the Joker's war on Gotham really cranked up a notch here.
