11 Most Disappointing Movies From Summer 2017

The Buzz: Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler teaming up for a comedy about the failings of the American education system as they desperately attempt to raise money for their child's college fund? And it's written by the guy behind both Neighbours movies, and co-stars Jason Mantzoukas? Sounds like a cult classic in the making.

What We Got: A stunningly lazy studio comedy that seemingly refused to make good on the central pairing, so much that the brilliant Mantzoukas actually surged to the front of the pack as the funniest thing in the movie.

It's also rife with icky product placement and surprisingly lacks the satirical edge it clearly seemed to be touting in the marketing. Like so many recent comedies, it's painfully underwritten and tries to coast on its cast being inherently funny. No dice this time.
