11 Movie Spoilers We Didn’t Know Last Week (March 29th)
5. Deadpool 2 Won't Be Bigger Than The First Film
If you thought that Deadpool now being the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time might result in a bigger scale for the sequel, think again. Though we don't know for sure whether Fox will throw more money at Deadpool 2 (the original film had a $58 million budget), director Tim Miller wants to retain the same intimate approach, saying, "I don't think bigger is better. You tell a story that's organic to the character. Deadpool's world doesn't mean you have to go bigger. I don't think the fans of the movie like it because we had big effects." Considering how much bang Deadpool fans got for their buck, Miller's desire to avoid the bloat of a $150 million movie is admirable, even if some fans will no doubt be expecting a sequel that ups the original's game significantly.
