12 Actors Who Have Basically Just Become Cartoon Characters

11. Antonio Banderas

Did someone call for a sexy Spaniard? Antonio Banderas would like to oblige, in almost every film. An early example is 1994's Interview with the Vampire opposite Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, in which his character was once a boyish Russian in Anne Rice's novels. Needless to say, that's all subsumed beneath Banderas' brooding presence. Perhaps Banderas' most famous role amongst a certain generation is his starring turn as Zorro, where he uses all his swashbuckling charm to great effect. He is also literally cartoonish in the Shrek films as Puss in Boots, or Zorro in animated feline form, and there are probably corners of the Internet where that's still a swoonworthy performance. Then we get to the films in which Banderas is flat-out crazy and yet can't resist striking a somewhat sexy pose. The launch of the PS4 recently saw the revival of this clip from the 1995 film Assassins. Just what Banderas was going for is anyone's guess, but after emitting a high-pitched noise like a tortured animal he leans backwards and pouts in a manner worthy of Zoolander. I guess if you're going to be remembered for any one thing, it may as well be for your irrepressible sexiness.
