Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's outrageous meta-apocalyptic comedy is arguably one of the funniest films of the last five years, making the most of its delicious premise with humour both shocking and smart.

Following the film's release and subsequent success at the box office, Goldberg floated a sequel idea, which would take place at the premiere of This is the End and feature the actors playing different fictionalised versions of themselves.

It's a mildly amusing, fittingly subversive idea, but it doesn't really sound like something that could necessarily sustain over a feature-length film.

This was lightning in the bottle and it's probably best left that way, especially as the huge headache of scheduling everyone's parts will probably ensure at least a few actors can't return.

How Likely Is It?: Goldberg has made it abundantly clear that the pair are divided on the idea, stating, "If you ask me, I'd say there's a pretty good chance of a sequel. If you ask Seth Rogen, he'd say no." Hilariously, though, Rogen did state back in 2014 that the sequel would have to be called, "No, THIS Is the End."

It's almost certainly not happening, but never say never. 2/10
