A project that has long languished in development hell, going through several iterations: from a 90s Roger Avery adaptation of the first Preludes and Nocturnes arc, to a James Mangold HBO series. This all seemed like it was about to change last December when Joseph Gordon Levitt announced via Twitter that he would be producing Sandman alongside Neil Gaiman and David Goyer. It's still early days but there has been surprisingly little news regarding the project since. Considering that Sandman has been here many times before, until there is more tangible development there is no reason to believe this version will get off the ground either. Having said that, news could be just around the corner regarding the project, and if Gordon-Levitt, Goyer and Gaiman (the three 'Gs') can get it moving, they will have succeeded where many have failed, and it will be an exciting time for fans of the comic. Dream isn't the only member of the Endless to suffer, his sister has also resided in development hell since Death: The High Cost of Living was first slated for production back in the 90s. It looked as if it would see the light of day in 2007 when Neil Gaiman announced he would direct and Guillermo Del Toro produce a version entitled Death and Me, but it would seem Del Toro's developmental curse struck again, and Warners closed the project in 2010. It has yet to be picked up or renewed anywhere else. Any thoughts or ideas on whether any of these properties will break out of production purgatory? Tell us below:
