12 Marvel Mistakes Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 Must Avoid

3. Overtly Setting Up Future Movies

In fairness, this is a problem with pretty much every major comic book franchise, where each new film is so responsible for setting up future movies that they can't just see through a fully completed arc before nodding to upcoming attractions and ensuring your money is set aside for it.

Marvel's movies have done this with a varying degree of success (and certainly never as badly as Batman v Superman's "Coming Soon" reel of the Justice League), and it helps that they often relegate the most implicit set-ups to credits scenes, but still, it usually feels like the current film has barely settled before fans are encouraged to get hype for the next one.

Wouldn't it be nice if GOTG2 was just a standalone movie? But considering that it probably needs to move the Guardians to Earth for Infinity War, that seems rather unlikely.
