12 MCU Mistakes Thor: Ragnarok Must Avoid
4. Wasting Awesome Comic Book Characters
Yes, not every great Marvel character can get their full due on-screen, but the MCU has wasted quite a few terrific characters, especially when it comes to villains.
Most prominently, of course, is The Mandarin, who was wasted in the service of a controversial plot twist in Iron Man 3, but there's also the likes of Baron Strucker and Crossbones (who died after mere minutes of screen time), and in terms of heroes, has it ever really felt like Hawkeye got his proper due?
Yes, these movies are aiming at the broadest, most casual audience possible, but they still need to do adequate service to the source material for the comic book fans who have made these films possible in the first place, no?
Will It Be Avoided?: Expect a mixed bag, to be honest. It's already looking like Karl Urban's Skurge is probably going to be an after-thought, and Surtur's likely not going to figure in the plot much, but Hela, Valkyrie and Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster seem like pretty promising renditions of their comic book counterparts so far.
