9. Danson & Highsmith (The Other Guys)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q86Rn4jETVk I can only imagine the uproar had Samuel L Jackson's and Dwayne Johnson's names featured on the 'The Other Guys' poster alongside Ferrell's and Wahlberg's. It was surprising enough to see, within the first ten minutes, New York's finest cops leap from the top of building in pursuit of a team of bank robbers, only to find themselves face down on the concrete pavement... dead. If it had been promoted as an iconic 'L-Man' cop flick, it would have really set the cat among the pigeons. Instead, the absence of Jackson and The Rock paves the way for lesser cops, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, to take the opportunity to shine. They embark on a case that leads to; driving around in a coke covered Prius, walking (not so) coolly away from an explosion, full on flipping out on an unsuspecting Steve Coogan and being relegated to 'wooden gun' status within the department. I started to miss Jackson and Johnson as the film went on, but I can sympathize with any of the characters in the film that showed little to no remorse - I imagine the combination of muscle and ego like that could become ever so grating! "Aim for the bushes..."
