7. Damien (Tropic Thunder)

I found Tropic Thunder to be largely hit and miss but one of the moments that genuinely produced a LOL out of me was Steve Coogan's cheeseball director and his stirring speech, followed by his shocking death! Catapulted into the Vietnamese Jungle, a group of actors (including Jack Black, Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr) are told they are to "make the greatest war movie... ever!" The director, Damien, is to lead them through the real-life war zone, capturing every glorious moment of real life action through a series of camera rigged to the trees. He also happens to be the one man that can call the chopper to get the primadonnas out of their sticky situation. It doesn't sound ideal but hey ho! - we're dealing with actors here. They're adaptable. And then... Coogan steps on a landmine. No warning. No nothing. Boom! In a moment of fantastic comedic timing, the British thesp explodes, raining body parts across the jungle floor. Our heroes have no idea what has just happened - putting it down to great special effects and life like props. Jack Black even goes as far as to whoop "yeah!". As far as they're concerned, operation 'great war movie' is still in effect!
