12 Movies You Wrongly Thought Bombed In 2018

9. Tomb Raider

Budget: $98 million (approx)

Box Office: $274.7 million

Even though the new Tomb Raider reboot wasn't a good movie, you almost have to feel sorry for how it's been treated by Warner Bros.

It received thoroughly mixed reviews, which for a video game adaptation is honestly not bad at all, and went on to gross 2.8x its price tag, which again for a video game movie is absolutely rock solid.

Tomb Raider obviously wasn't a smash hit but it still performed well enough that a sequel seemed within reach, right?

Well, not according to the studio, with reports emerging mere weeks after its release that Warner Bros. wasn't interested in pursuing a follow-up, at least not with Alicia Vikander reprising the Lara Croft role.

Though franchise plans seem to be scrapped for now - at least until another inevitable reboot abounds - if you took the studio's reaction at face value, you'd assume Tomb Raider landed with a thud. And clearly, it didn't.
