12 Perfect Castings For Upcoming MCU Movies

8. Viggo Mortensen As Doctor Doom

Emily Blunt Fantastic Four

Doctor Doom is on his way to the MCU, and if there is any justice, he will be the new big bad of the franchise. It will have to take something huge to follow in the giant, purple footsteps of Thanos, but Doom, if cast right, would be ideal.

Julian McMahon and Toby Kebbell certainly left a lot to be desired in their versions of the character, and if Doom is to be done justice, Marvel Studios need to do much better. Who more fitting to look to than a three time Best Actor Academy Award nominee?

Viggo Mortensen would lend one of Marvel's greatest ever villains an air of wisdom, a sense of undeniable gravitas, and the charm and charisma of Aragorn. This is all before the kind of European accent that would bring Latveria to life, and unlike Wanda Maximoff's accent, not turn more and more American with every movie.

Though Mads Mikkelsen may have been a perfect choice for many, the door is closed on this as the Hannibal star has already portrayed Kaecilius in the MCU. This may be a blessing in disguise however, allowing Mortensen the opportunity to give the franchise its new big bad.
