It was a crying shame that Adam Warlock couldn't have been introduced to the MCU before Infinity War. The cosmic character was instrumental in the defeat of Thanos in the comics, but was unable to help when the battle was brought to the big screen.
We do, however, know that Warlock will be coming to the franchise at some point in the future, and though it may be after Infinity War, it is surely better late than never. Matthew McConaughey was rumoured to be up for the role at one stage, but with that firmly in the rear view mirror, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is the clear choice.
The Dutch actor has a long back catalogue of strong roles, but Marvel need only look at his portrayal of Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones to see he is the man for the job. Throughout his eight season run, Lannister was portrayed as honourable, fearless, and ruthless, as well as young, and naive. All of which would be needed to properly bring Warlock to life.
And if, further down the line, the MCU delves into Adam's evil alter ego, The Magus, Coster-Waldau would have no problem making him one of the most hated characters in the franchise, just like he did in season one of Game of Thrones.
