7. Universal Considered A CGI Paul Walker - The Fate Of The Furious

The Original Plan: In the lead up to the movie's release, director F. Gary Gray confirmed that he had initial discussions with Universal about possibility featuring Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner in the movie with the help of state-of-the-art CGI.
What Happened?: Logic prevailed, and the idea was rubbished before the film's script was finalised, thankfully.
Did It Work?: Totally. Considering how rough the CGI Paul Walker looked in places in Furious 7 - albeit operating under the most unfortunate and pressured of circumstances - creating him completely from scratch for a movie where they didn't need to would've been ill-advised at best and disrespectful at worst.
Instead, we got a nice closing tribute to Walker with Dom (Vin Diesel) naming his new son Brian, and the rest of the movie proved the series will survive just fine without him.
