12 Things Warner Bros Want You To Forget About Batman Movies
5. Christian Bale's Bat-Voice (The Dark Knight Saga)
The latter two Nolan Batman films in particular made egregious use of Christian Bale's gruff vocal register to create the "Bat-voice", which Bruce would use in order to disguise his real identity. It's easily one of the most-mocked aspects of Bale's Batman, a ridiculous affectation considering that Bats has all this ridiculous gadgetry yet can't apparently fit a voice modulator in his suit to digitally alter his voice. Not only would it sound way cooler, it would be a lot more practical and less silly. Instead, fans had to sit through preposterous monologues as Bale struggles to catch a breath and stop his voice from going hoarse mid-conversation. Why Warner Want You To Forget Because it was widely ridiculed, and the new Batman is going in a totally different direction with the voice: we can hear Batfleck's synthesised vocal register in the Batman v Superman trailer, and it sounds totally bada**. That said, we don't know whether Batman only has this modulator in his special armoured suit or also in his regular costume too. Either way, it's best forgotten, and an easy nadir of unintentional humour in the Dark Knight saga.
