12 Worst Movie Spin-Offs Ever Made
4. Catwoman
Things were so bad for female-led comic book blockbusters that despite being a massive box office bomb and solidifying a well-earned reputation as one of the worst movies ever made, Catwoman's $82.1m tally was still enough to see it remain the highest-grossing entry in the genre with a female protagonist for well over a decade, before Wonder Woman came along in 2017 and earned ten times as much.
As the Kaos-directed Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever and McG's entire filmography would suggest, filmmakers with one name aren't exactly a barometer of quality cinema, and Catwoman's Pitof only reinforces this notion by delivering an astonishingly cack-handed big screen adaptation for one of DC's most popular characters.
It just goes to show how bad Warner Bros. were at managing their comic book properties at the time that they p*ssed away $100m on this turd less than twelve months before Batman Begins was released. Catwoman is one of those rare projects that's so terrible on every level from the writing, directing, acting, effects and even production design that absolutely nobody involved with it gets pass marks.
