13 2018 Movies That Are Destined To Disappoint You
6. Solo: A Star Wars Story
Release Date: May 25, 2018
Where to even begin with this one? Granted, a lot of fans have felt that a Han Solo origin story was grossly unnecessary from the outset, but when Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street) were hired to direct, it was hard not to be intrigued.
Then they were dismissed mid-production after clashing with producer Kathleen Kennedy and co-writer Lawrence Kasdan, with the safe (if uninspired) choice of Ron Howard coming aboard to finish the movie off.
Reports suggest that Howard re-shot decidedly more than was originally anticipated, and there are even rumours that Disney has already "written off" Solo as a dud.
Though Rogue One itself managed to come out of extensive re-shoots surprisingly well, it's still hard to expect much from a movie that's suffered through such a hellish production, especially with numerous reports citing issues with lead actor Alden Ehrenreich's performance.
