13 Massive Movie Predictions For The Rest Of 2018

8. Laurie Strode Dies (Again) In Halloween

The trailer for the new Halloween sequel-reboot looks like it could be the best entry into the franchise since the 1978 original, with Jamie Lee Curtis' reprisal of her iconic Laurie Strode role being a big part of the reason why.

However, it's also hard to imagine Curtis returning to the role just to stick around for a relentless slew of sequels. The marketing paints this as a climactic showdown between Laurie and Michael Myers, so it'd certainly make sense if she was killed at the end, setting the stage for the next film.

After all, it'd allow Curtis to fix the character's underwhelming death in Halloween: Resurrection by giving her the meaningful demise she deserves, while ultimately passing the torch to a new generation.

Sure, Laurie could survive and basically become the new Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence) for the inevitable sequels, but using her death as a dramatic tool feels like a far smarter move.
