14 Things That Would Have Happened After 2017 Movies Ended

10. Diana (Temporarily) Retires - Wonder Woman

One of the most surprising things about Wonder Woman is that the movie doesn't actually end with Diana (Gal Gadot) hanging up the superhero mantle.

Most fans had assumed that Steve Trevor's (Chris Pine) expected death and the ugliness of World War I would cause her to turn her back on humanity, but that doesn't actually happen nor is it even remotely implied.

Considering that Wonder Woman's armour is dull and tarnished when she re-appears in Batman v Superman, Diana must hang up the mantle some time in those interceding years.

Though rumours suggest Wonder Woman 2 will take place during the Cold War, there'd need to be one hell of an explanation for Diana not taking part in World War II if she's not retired from duty by then.

The most logical response is that she takes a sabbatical from superheroic antics post-WWI, then doesn't dust off the costume again until the 1980s to face the Soviets.

Either way, her temporary period of retirement happens at some point after this film.
