14 Things That Would Have Happened After 2017 Movies Ended
9. Leia Dies - Star Wars: The Last Jedi
This one stings for just about everybody. Though General Leia (Carrie Fisher) evaded death numerous times throughout Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Fisher's untimely death will require the character to be written out of the franchise, most likely before Star Wars Episode IX even kicks off.
It's widely expected that the film's title crawl will begin with Leia's demise, followed by a lavish funeral scene, and even if that doesn't happen, it's incredibly difficult to imagine any other fate awaiting Leia.
Keeping her alive in Episode IX off-screen would be terrible, and at least giving her a funeral scene would result in a potentially cathartic moment of closure for fans.
Whether she's murdered by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) or dies of natural causes - the latter would feel more tasteful - it's absolutely the most logical way to go.
