What We Know: After 2009's zombie comedy was an unexpected box office hit, a sequel was set in motion almost immediately. Some seven years later, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are still working on the script, while Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin are all expected to return alongside director Ruben Fleischer.
Why It Won't Happen: Even if production miraculously began tomorrow, there would be eight years between movies, and it honestly just feels like Jesse Eisenberg said it best himself, that it's possible a sequel may no longer be relevant. Every passing day pretty much makes it less likely this will happen, and the Zombieland TV show not even making it to series a few years ago only adds fuel to the flames.
As great as the first movie is, you don't really hear many people talking about it these days, except for the Bill Murray cameo, of course.
