15 Awesome Summer 2017 Movies You Probably Missed

5. Mindhorn

The Plot: After a lunatic escapes custody on the Isle of Man, he informs the police that he'll only speak to a fictional TV character, Detective Bruce Mindhorn.

The authorities as such seek out Mindhorn's actor, an over-the-hill egomaniac named Richard Thorncroft (Julian Barratt), to reprise his iconic role and help bring the man to justice.

Why It's Awesome: Films don't get much sillier than Mindhorn, a gleeful parody of naff 80s cop shows that's crammed with terrifically daft one-liners, and benefits from Julian Barratt's outrageous performance as the title character.

If you enjoyed MacGruber, you absolutely need to see this, because it's basically a British quasi-remake, and is similarly destined for cult status.
