Despite being amongst the most widely beloved names in cinema, not everything from Steven Spielberg is as life-affirming as fans of the saccharine Hook and The BFG might expect. This’s the director who brought us the likes of Jaws and Saving Private Ryan, after all, and he’s more than ready to tug on heartstrings when necessary.
